Palliative Therapy

If the objective is a palliative therapy, meaning a cure is not possible according to the current state of knowledge, but the disease can still be managed well and the patient's life can be extended, then the cancer therapy is to be flexibly designed and matched to the individual circumstances. This situation is relevant for more than half of all cancer patients. If it is fundamentally true that the disease can be managed well, then the trick is to control the disease via therapeutic measures and maintain the patient's quality of life as high as possible.
