Partners of the Centre for Cancer Medicine
University Hospital Freiburg
The Centre is connected with the University Hospital Freiburg via a cooperation agreement. The Centre thereby has access to any medical services that may not be available within the Centre for Cancer Medicine itself. Our patients can also consult with the directors of the hospital at any time as well as be presented to the private outpatient clinics, the central outpatient clinic belonging to the Comprehensive Cancer Centres Freiburg (CCCF) and the various organ-specific tumour boards.
Clinic for Tumour Biology (Klinik für Tumorbiologie)
Prof. Unger was the director at the Clinic for Tumour Biology for many years. The Clinic for Tumour Biology is particularly renowned for supportive-palliative tumour therapy as well as supplementary therapy offers and is therefore a long-term partner of our Centre.
Catholic Church-run Hospitals
We have traditionally had good relations with the Catholic-run hospitals belonging to the RkK Council. We are very well connected to the departments for Radiology (Prof. Uhl) and Urology (Prof. Breul).
Max Grundig Clinic
Prof. Unger has been active since May 2012 in a consultative internal medicine capacity for the Hematology/Oncology departments of the Max Grundig Clinic GmbH in Bühl/Baden, Germany. The services relevant to this post are examinations, diagnostics, therapy and post-treatment of cancer patients.
Berkana Clinic in Moscow
Patients from Moscow and the greater metropolitan area of Moscow who are treated in our Centre can also receive treatment at the Berkana Clinic. The oncologically active physicians there regularly come to Freiburg for further training and consultation with our jointly-treated patients.
Alexandrov-National-Cancer-Center of Belarus (NCCB)
Prof. Unger has been one of the European consultants of the national cancer center in Minsk for over 10 years. He delivers lectures there and participates in the joint training sessions for oncologists.
